Musical Chairs: Jive West Coast regional Geo Bivens and
Southeast regional Bradley Davidson
switch regions. Bivens is now based in Atlanta, and Davidson is
now in Los Angeles. Also at
Jive, Sonia Muckle is named senior director of publicity joining
from the Susan Blond agency in
New York.
Congrats to flavor Unit's Dedra Tare Rice on the Feb. 9 birth of
her first son, Jian Pierre Rice.
In Ink: The man behind Immature, Chris Stokes, just signed a
production and label deal with Noo
Trybe. The first two signings to Get Hooked Records are female
singer K-Bail and a female trio
named Mozaic. Mozaic's First single is due in April.
Cyberconcert: On Thursday, Def Jam and Rapradio at
www.rapradio.com W& broadcast a live
cyberconcert from the House of Blues in Hollywood. Calif.,
featuring Foxy Brown, Redman,
Warren G, and Richie Rich.
Artist News: Tina Turner's 60-date Wildest Dreams tour kicks
off May 2 in Houston and ends
July 27 in New York... LL Cool is writing his autobiography
for St. Martin's Press. Not
unlike many of his rap hits, there will be both explicit and
clean versions of the book. . . Tony
Rich says he has finished his sophomore album and expects to
release the as-yet-untitled album in
April . . . Japanese soul singer Toshi Kubota is helping
recruit volunteers for the Big
Brothers/Big Sisters of America. His single 'Just The Two Of
Us" is the theme song of the
campaign. Look for his PSAs to air on TV in March.
